Our Story

Dr. Antonio Marotta and Andy Pickering, M.S., first crossed paths at San Diego State University, where their professional relationship began. What started in an academic setting soon evolved into a collaborative partnership built on mutual respect, shared values, and a common vision for redefining what therapy could look like.

Their work together naturally grew over time—from clinical collaboration to co-creating a model of care that emphasized authentic connection as the foundation for healing. In 2015, that vision took shape as Therapy-Connection: a group practice grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for transformation.

From the start, their mission was to build a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. Therapy-Connection is more than a practice—it’s a place where connection itself is the heart of healing.

Today, every therapist on the team carries that mission forward, meeting clients with empathy, presence, and a commitment to collaborative growth.
