Jason Allen, AMFT
About Jason
Jason Allen is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #156057) who graduated from the University of San Diego in 2025 with a Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and someone raised in a traditional Mexican immigrant family, he understands how cultural norms can clash and lead individuals to believe they are the problem or somehow flawed. Jason believes that people are not their problems, but rather that people have relationships with problems that create challenges in their lives.
Jason has a passion for Narrative Therapy and Gestalt Play Therapy, both of which he has received advanced training and supervision in. He enjoys working with children, adults, families, and couples. He has teamed up with clients to address concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger issues, marital conflict, life transitions, trauma, and more.
Jason also has specialized experience and training in working with families impacted by domestic violence. His background includes supporting individuals currently in abusive relationships as well as those recovering from leaving one. He has also facilitated a weekly domestic violence support group.
In addition to his clinical work, Jason has been a flight attendant for a major U.S. airline for more than 10 years and continues to work part-time in that role. Some of his favorite places he has traveled to include Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, as well as Yakushima Island in Japan. He enjoys running, reading, hiking, playing piano, and writing fiction.
